On I-75 north of Cincinnati, there was a 65 foot tall (20 meters) statue of Jesus reaching towards the sky. I say "was" because last night, God decided to shoot a bolt of lightning at the statue causing it to burst into flames. The statue was built in 2004 and was made of Styrofoam and fiberglass. You can see that all that is left is the metal frame. They say the estimated damage (based on construction costs) is $700,000! Why would a church spend so much money on such an extravagant decoration? That money could have gone towards building homes for low income families or even restocking food pantries. The world needs to feed all of it's children before we build stupid statues. Okay, I'm stepping of the soap box now.
