Franklin county has joined the growing number of counties that have banned all outdoor burning. As of September 27, 53 of the 92 counties within the state have a burn ban in place. The "abundant" moisture that the TV meteorologists were forecasting for our area on Monday afternoon and evening fizzled. Total rainfall for the 24 hour period ending 6am Tuesday was 0.02". Certainly not enough rain to provide any type of relief. Our next chance of rain will be Saturday, but it is a very small chance of <10%.
In the last 60 days, total rainfall for my station has been only 2.06". Total rainfall for the month of September has been only 0.20".
