The dry weather has really taken a toll on the groundwater level. Lakes, creeks, rivers, and ponds all across the state are running very low. The last time I saw my pond as low as it is in this photo was in 2007. That was the last major drought in the area.
I think next week will begin the transition to winter. I'm confident that we will have an accumulating snow before the end of November. The snow will be light, but I think Thanksgiving will be white.
