Friday, November 5 saw the first snow flakes of the season. A strong area of low pressure moved up the Appalachian mountains and helped to pull very cold air down from Canada. The northwest winds picked up moisture off of Lake Michigan creating lake effect snow bands and rain showers in our area. No accumulation of course, but it was exciting to see our first snow flakes for what I hope will be a snowy winter.
