Only an inch or less of snow was forecast for last night, but the latest storm affecting the area had a bit of a surprise. Beginning around 9:30 last night a few flakes were falling, but by 10:30 about an inch and a half of snow had fallen. This morning, I measure 2 inches of accumulation. Good enough to close school for the day.
The winter has gotten off to an awesome start with over 14 inches of snow this month. The models are hinting at an awesome Christmas Eve storm too. How great of a Christmas gift a foot of snow would be. :-D The storm should insure that the entire month of December will have snow on the ground. I can't remember the last time that happened.
