The first snow flakes of the year were seen on Thursday, November 10. Temperatures on Thursday only reached the low 40's at the surface, but just a few hundred feet above the surface temperatures were much colder. A weak disturbance moved through the area in the afternoon and with the daytime heating and the disturbance, snow showers developed. Some of the snow showers were strong enough to coat the ground and cause some icy patches on bridges and overpasses.
