A lot of rain has fallen in the last 36 hours. Nearly 4.25" (108mm) of rain has fallen since early Saturday morning. Several roads in the area were closed for a short time due to the high water and some were even washed away. I'll try and get a picture tomorrow of one of the roads nearby that was washed away.
After the rain Saturday morning, the heat arrived with it's stifling humidity. The dew point reached 80F (27C) yesterday with an air temperature of 86F (30C). That turns into a head index of 99F (37C). Although this was not the hottest day of this summer season, it was highest heat index of the season so far.
