Fall color is nearing its peak here in Franklin County. The map at left is just a general idea of what the color is like across the country. I'm going to say that the leaves will be gone by Halloween. Especially if we get some good wind and rain to roll in between now and then which I think we might see.The color hasn't been all that brilliant this fall. A lot of the color is muted as compared to past falls. I think the September 14 windstorm and the increasing level of drought has a lot to do with this. Never the less, there are some beautiful scenes across the area as Mother Nature puts on her annual show.
