First Freeze

The snow and ice cover across the polar regions is increasing daily. The snowcover across northern Asia, Alaska, and northern Canada has exploded in the last week. It's amazing to see how fast the polar ice is increasing too. At this time last year, only about half of what is ice today was ice a year ago. I wonder how that will impact our winter? You can view these maps at this address: http://www.natice.noaa.gov/ims/

Tonight should be our first freeze which will end the growing season. The low tonight is supposed to be in the upper 20's. A freeze warning is in effect for all of eastern Indiana and southwestern Ohio.
