The winds are strong today just as predicted. This is causing a significant amount of blowing and drifting snow across the area. The strongest gust here at home has been 26mph, but that might not be accurate. My anemometer is on the roof and has snow in the wind cups. That may be preventing it from moving freely to the get the correct measurement. I'm not climbing on the roof to clean it.
Franklin, Fayette, and Rush counties are all under level 3 snow emergencies. This means that some roads are likely impassable and that travel is restricted to emergency vehicles only. I'm certain that in Rush county, many of the county roads are drifted shut.
