Severe Weather Likely

Thunderstorms will develop over the mid Mississippi valley and expand northeast into central Indiana this evening and overnight. Thunderstorms will impact areas mainly along and south of interstate 70 this evening...and all of central Indiana after midnight. Isolated severe storms will be possible...especially along and south of interstate 70. Large hail...torrential rainfall...and dangerous lightning will be the main threats.

From Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night significant severe storms are likely with the primary threats being tornadoes...very large hail...and damaging winds. The thunderstorms will also produce torrential rainfall and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning. Two rounds of severe weather are currently expected. The first will be in the afternoon and evening hours associated with the warm sector and the northward lifting warm front. The second will be along and ahead of the cold front as it moves through overnight. Continue to check the latest forecast for updated information on timing as the system approaches.
